Volunteer Requirements
Without volunteers, the Stone Table Study Group would be unable to operate.
There is nobody who can say "THEY educate my children."
There is nobody in our community who can say "THEY serve my children."
There is only "we."
This is our required attitude:
WE educate our children together.
"My child is my responsiblity."
It is a nice plus that someone is willing to partner with you to homeschool your child!
Never take any of our amazing volunteers for granted.
And when you show up on campus, come to serve. And, WE serve because we love.
Home education is a right granted to the parents of the individual child, and the final authority in your homeschool environment is you. Likewise, the final responsibility for your child's conduct and classwork at STSG ... belongs to you.
You volunteer at the Stone Table Study Group because you understand the value of what the group is offering your child. You volunteer because you know that educating our children is a big job.
You volunteer because ... you are investing in your child's future.
You volunteer as an expression of your love for God.
VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES 2023/2024
The Classical Co-op (grades PK-8) program requires that all parents remain on site during the entire time that their students are on campus.
The Secondary Academy (grades 7-12) program allows parents to leave the campus when they are not needed for volunteer help or supervising their children. The Secondary Academy allows students to attend classes without their parents on site, as long as the children do not require extra support. Discipline problems, dress code violations, and a need for academic support (such as special learning needs), are examples of students who require extra support. Parents of students who require extra support must remain on campus at all times and sit in classes with their students.
All parents are required to volunteer their time and to maintain a heart of love and service for the Stone Table Study Group family.
Classical Co-op parents volunteer as classroom teachers, or classroom helpers.
Secondary Academy parents volunteer to set up, clean, supervise the check-in table, and other duties, as assigned according to your availability information provided to the volunteer coordinator.
All families are strongly encouraged to choose and serve on an administrative committee for the Stone Table Study Group (e.g. Events Committee, Communications Committee).
Volunteer because you love your children. Bring your HEART to serve each time you show up.
Choose to love our community!!!
Love other people's children the way you want them to love your children.
STRUGGLING WITH YOUR COMMUNITY OBLIGATIONS? Parents should evaluate if Stone Table is a good fit for your family. If obligations are not met...then it might just not be what your family needs in this season of life. In order to maintain good standing in the organization, requirements agreed to at the Registration meetings must be met. Teachers and the board are taking notes of unfulfilled obligations. If these obligations remain neglected, these families will either (1) not be allowed to register until after families who have met the requirements have registered, or (2) they will not be allowed to register at all. In order to remain in a qualifying status, families MUST be proactive in STSG. This includes: PAYMENT, BEHAVIOR, VOLUNTEER, AND PREPARATION AT HOME FOR THE CLASSROOM. Please review the handbook if you have forgotten your responsibilities.
We look forward to partnering with you on your journey through home education!
